Privacy Notice
This notice explains how Jamieson CPA handles personal information collected through jamfs.ca and during an initial service inquiry.
1. Our commitment
Jamieson CPA is responsible for personal information under its control. We aim to collect only what is reasonably needed, explain why it is needed, use it for the stated purpose and protect it with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity.
Do not send sensitive records through the public inquiry form. Do not include a social insurance number, banking or payment-card details, tax slips, tax returns, government account credentials or copies of identity documents. A secure document process will be arranged separately if an engagement proceeds.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
The inquiry form may collect your name, email address, optional phone number, optional company or organization, service interest, timing, contact preference and the high-level message you choose to provide.
Technical information
When you use the site, infrastructure providers may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, request time, referring page and security signals. Jamieson CPA uses this information to deliver the site, prevent abuse, troubleshoot and maintain security.
3. Why we use information
Information collected through the site is used to:
- review and respond to your inquiry;
- assess service fit, availability, timing and potential conflicts;
- prepare a proposed scope or arrange a follow-up conversation;
- keep a record of communications and requested services;
- secure, operate and improve the website and intake process; and
- meet professional, legal, regulatory and recordkeeping requirements.
Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Marketing communications, if introduced later, will use a separate consent process and opt-out mechanism.
4. Consent
The form asks for your express consent to use the submitted information to evaluate and respond to the inquiry. You may withdraw that consent, subject to legal, professional or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may prevent Jamieson CPA from continuing to evaluate or respond to the request.
5. Service providers and transfers
Jamieson CPA uses service providers to operate the website and business systems. These may include Cloudflare for website delivery and security, WysCRM for inquiry and relationship management, email providers for communications, and Stripe or other payment providers after billing begins. Professional software and secure record systems may be introduced under an engagement.
Service providers are expected to process information only for authorized purposes and with appropriate safeguards. Some providers may process or store information outside Saskatchewan or Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
6. Retention
Inquiry information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including follow-up, conflict review, business records, security and legal or professional obligations. Records that become part of an engagement are retained under the applicable engagement and record-retention requirements. Information that is no longer required is securely deleted, destroyed or anonymized.
7. Safeguards
Safeguards include access controls, encrypted transmission, server-side protection of integration credentials, limited collection, abuse controls and the use of managed service providers. No internet transmission or storage system is risk-free, so sensitive documents are intentionally excluded from the public intake form.
8. Cookies and analytics
At launch, jamfs.ca does not use advertising cookies or third-party audience analytics. Essential infrastructure may use request-level security signals to deliver and protect the site. If analytics or optional cookies are introduced later, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated before those tools are enabled.
9. Access, correction and questions
You may ask what personal information Jamieson CPA holds about you, request corrections or raise a privacy concern. Use the website inquiry form, choose “General inquiry,” and state that the request is for the privacy lead. Do not include identity documents in the initial message. Reasonable identity verification may be required before access is provided.
10. Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated as services, systems or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented prominently where appropriate.
